Chapuis et Chapuis Bouzeron 2022

Aligoté, 10-year-old vines, 10 months in old oak

Fantastic vintage for Aligoté, great balance and fruit concentration. The weight and depth of this wine will surprise you. 

Romain and Jean-Guillaume Chapuis are based in the village of Ladoix-Serrigny, where they make minimal intervention wines from their own grapes and from trusted growers. The brothers come from the well-known Chapuis winemaking family and have access to some great vineyards (including 1er and Grand Cru sites).  

Roman was a flying winemaker for 10 years, traveling all over the world and then returning for a three-year stint making wine for Philippe Pacalet. The Chapuis & Chapuis project started in 2009 with a goal of making serious but approachable natural wines with real drinkability. Organic grapes, spontaneous fermentations, relatively short aging in old oak. Unfined, unfiltered and small doses of SO2.
